Merci Vriendenkring De Rijten for another massive creative collaboration, this time to bring a giant FeastBeast to life. It always amazes me to witness how +-150 people come together to bring such a crazy collosal piece of theater on the road and give it their all to entertain the audience of thousands, and to be a part of that. Thanks again for all the hard work, hard play and personal connections. High fours all around ✋
After Brabantsedag 2024 we decided to disband our Rijten design team and Maarten van der Velden would be the sole designer for our 2025 parade float. Personally I remained part of the Theme Committee and the Theater Committee. I worked closely with them and Maarten to help develop the concept and the theatrical play of the float. I also worked with Maarten to help develop the visual designs of the FeastBeast, the Faithful and props through many sketches. I might share some of those.
As a lover of weird creature designs, quirky theatrical plays, colorful cartoons, black & white horrors, energetic movement and swing jazz this float was still very close to my heart. I 🖤 how, with all of De Rijten, we managed to mix all of these into a cohesive story and entertaining piece of theater!
